ABOUT THE LESSON: To learn about the world we live in is always a great topic, but even more amazing is the world beyond the world we know. Looking up at night we see the shining stars which represent a world we all are fascinated by and want to know more of. In this lesson, we are going to develop our fine motor skills with the skill of abstract thinking by exploring shooting stars. What are they ? Where do they come from? And using our imaginations to make our own stars to put up at home. SUPERSKILLS: Fine motor coordination: When you use your smaller intrinsic muscle groups of your hands to perform or engage in an activity with controlled movements. You can never be too old to practice fine motor coordination. This lesson is loaded with detailed work from tracing, cutting, glueing and matching shapes. Abstract thinking: A great skill used for problem solving and thinking about the world. It allows a child to develop ways to classify objects and experiences. It also allows a child to attempt to comprehend concepts that are not immediately present in their world.
