Follow these simple steps to transform old cans or plastic containers into vibrant, functional plant pots.

Materials Needed:

  • Old cans or plastic containers

  • Paint

  • Soil

  • Seeds

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Clean the Containers:

  • Start by thoroughly washing the old cans or plastic containers to remove any residue. Let them dry completely before moving on to the next step.

  1. Decorate the Containers:

  • Use paint to decorate the containers. Encourage your child to be creative with colors and designs. This is a great opportunity for them to express their artistic side. Allow the paint to dry completely.

  1. Prepare for Planting:

  • Fill the decorated containers with soil, leaving some space at the top for watering. Choose soil that is appropriate for the type of seeds you will be planting.

  1. Plant the Seeds:

  • Make small holes in the soil according to the depth requirements of the seeds you are using. Place the seeds in the holes and gently cover them with soil.

  1. Place in a Sunny Spot:

  • Find a sunny spot for your plant pots. Most plants need plenty of sunlight to grow, so choose a location that gets good light throughout the day.

  1. Water Regularly:

  • Water the plants regularly, keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged. Teach your child about the importance of consistent watering and how to check if the soil is too dry.
