How to Make a Footprint Bunny:
Preparing to Make the Footprint: First, arrange your workspace by ensuring wet wipes and cloths or rags are readily available. Gather supplies such as white cardstock, tempera paint, and brushes.
Next, apply paint to the bottom of your child’s foot. We chose hues like pink, blue, and yellow, but feel free to select any colors that spark joy.
Now, guide your child to gently press their foot onto the cardstock to form the footprint. Interestingly, we discovered that one coat of paint can produce two lovely prints.
Remember, when transitioning between paint colors, it’s essential to thoroughly clean your child’s foot. While wet wipes are convenient, using soapy water and a cloth ensures optimal cleanliness. Keep a small bowl of soapy water nearby for quick and easy cleaning, eliminating the need to trek to the sink.
Finally, set all the footprints aside to air dry completely before proceeding to the next step.
Make the Footprint:
Apply paint to your child's foot and press onto white cardstock.
Let dry completely.
Make the Bunny's Body:
Cut out the footprints, about 1/8″ away from the painted print.
Cut out the footprints and glue onto matching cardstock.
Cut out the footprints, about 1/4″ away from the edge of the white cardstock.
Crafting the Bunny's Ears:
Begin by printing and cutting out the bunny ear templates provided in the printable section at the bottom of the post.
Next, utilize chalk or a marker to trace the inner ear shapes onto pale pink felt and the outer ear shapes onto a color that matches the bunny's body. Once traced, carefully cut out the shapes.
Apply glue to the pink inner ears and affix them to the center of the outer ears.
Now, your bunny's ears are ready to adorn its adorable face!
Apply two small dots of tacky glue to the back of the cardstock footprint, specifically on the heel end.
Position the ears into the glue and firmly press them to secure them in place.
Make the bunny’s face.
Use a black marker to sketch the bunny's eyes and mouth.
Apply a tiny dot of tacky glue just above the mouth and affix a small pom pom on top for the nose.
If miniature pom poms are unavailable, you can alternatively draw the nose.
Add the tail:
Place a small amount of tacky glue on the bottom of the bunny's body, precisely at the edge near the big toe.
Press a cotton ball into the glue to create the bunny's tail. Alternatively, you can also use a large pom pom in this spot instead.
Make the Easter flag:
Print and cut out the flag template provided in the free printable section located at the bottom of the post.
Trace the template onto white cardstock as many times as necessary, then carefully cut out each flag shape.
With a marker, inscribe a message onto each flag. For instance, we wrote "Hoppy Easter!"
Apply a thin line of tacky glue to the edge of the flag and attach a toothpick.
Finish up the bunny:
Place a small amount of tacky glue on the end of the toothpick and position it on the footprint body, encircling the arch of the foot.
Apply two small dots of tacky glue, one directly on top of the toothpick and the other approximately 1 inch away on the opposite side of the bunny.
Press a pom pom into each glue dot to serve as the bunny's paws. If the pom poms do not adhere securely, you can use hot glue or a glue dot for additional reinforcement.
Repeat the process to create as many bunnies as you desire!
How to Make a Footprint Carrot:
Make the Footprints:
Get your space ready: keep wet wipes and a few cloths or rags nearby, along with your white cardstock, orange paint, and paintbrush.
Coat the bottom of your child's foot with orange tempera paint and help them press it onto the white cardstock. We discovered that you can create 2 nice footprints with just 1 coat of paint.
Apply more paint to their foot to create as many footprints as you wish. Then, set them aside to dry completely.
Make the Carrot:
Utilize scissors to trim around the orange footprints, leaving approximately 1/8 inch of space from the edge of the print.
Glue the footprint onto orange cardstock.
Cut out the footprint again, about 1/4″ away from the white paper edge.
Make the Carrot Tops:
Print out the carrot top template (available at the bottom of the post) and carefully cut it out.
Use a piece of chalk or marker to trace the template onto green felt.
Cut out the felt carrot tops.
Assemble:
Place a small dot of tacky glue on the back of the orange cardstock, specifically at the end where the toes are located.
Press the felt carrot top onto the glue to firmly attach it. Then, set it aside to dry thoroughly.
These delightful Easter creations are not only fun to make but also serve as precious reminders of the joy shared during this special time.
Don't forget to personalize each one with your child's name and date, adding an extra touch of love to these charming keepsakes. Happy crafting and Hoppy Easter! 🐰🥕
